Ingredients
- 1 cup dhal
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 dried chillies
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp turmeric

- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion
- 4 jalapeno peppers
- 3 tomatoes
- 1/4 head cauliflower
Instructions
- In a pressure cooker, boil dhal and carrots with ginger, garlic, dried chillies, curry leaves, ground turmeric and salt, about 20-30 minutes.
- In a pot, heat butter and temper mustard seeds. When they crackle, add cumin seeds and onions. Fry until onions are slightly brown, about 3 minutes.
- Add jalapeno peppers and tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add cooked dhal to the pot, and cook for 5 minutes.
